Come be my knight in shining armor, Though your steed's not horse nor white, Come rescue me from my prison, Save me from myself tonight.
Like Rapunzel I'll let down my hair, That you may climb into my heart, Then carry me from this tower, Where I've been kept apart.
I've been dead for far too long, Swallowed a poisoned bite of society, Wake me from this endless sleep, Won't you come and rescue me?
Don't you know we all need rescued, From different types of pain, We have nothing more that we can lose, Only life we're longing to regain.
Come be my knight in shining armor, Hold me close and tight, Come rescue me from my prison, Free my heart and soul tonight.

The rhythm was positively marvellous, and I even found myself singing aloud. =P The message is so clear, so I won't comment on any underlying tones. It's not something that's too depressive, nor does it relay different themes. In my opinion, this poem is very straight-forward and very well-written. I enjoy the allusion and the part in the first stanza that disassociates this "knight" from an actual traditional knight. It's like you're throwing ancient stories into a modern tale of romance and woe, and it all ties together so nicely.
I'm positively enthralled. Beautiful job, Shina.
